Delete your 24eTax account
Last updated: 7 September 2026 · TriAvani Law Associates LLP
You can delete your 24eTax account yourself, from the app or from the web app, without contacting us. This page explains how, what is removed straight away, and which records Indian tax law requires us to keep even after deletion.
Developer: TriAvani Law Associates LLP · app 24eTax
Delete without the app: sign in at app.24etax.com → Privacy & data → Request account deletion

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Export your data first if you want a copy.
1. Delete from the app
- Open 24eTax and sign in.
- Go to More → Privacy & data.
- Tap Download my data first if you want a copy. You get a ZIP of your profile, parties, documents and consent history.
- Tap Request account deletion, tick the confirmation and tap Delete my account.
The request is carried out at once. You are signed out on every device, and the local copy of your data on that device is wiped.
2. Delete without installing the app
The web app is the same product in a browser. Sign in at app.24etax.com with the mobile number or email you registered with, then follow the same route: More → Privacy & data → Request account deletion. Nothing needs to be installed.
If you can no longer sign in, email support@24etax.com from the address on the account, or write from any address giving the registered mobile number. We verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting, and we complete verified requests within 30 days.
3. What is deleted
- Your name, email address, mobile number and profile details are replaced with anonymous placeholders.
- Your password, two-factor secret and every sign-in session and refresh token are destroyed. Access ends immediately on all devices.
- Push-notification tokens and device registrations are removed, so the app can no longer reach you.
- Contact details of customers and suppliers you entered in companies you own are scrubbed.
- Saved GST portal and NIC credentials and any active portal session are cleared.
- Your consent record is marked withdrawn, and marketing and WhatsApp messaging stop.
- The encrypted database on each device is deleted when that device next signs out.
4. What we must keep, and why
Invoices, credit and debit notes, journal entries, GST returns and the filing history that go with them are kept for eight years. This is not our choice: section 36 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act 2017, read with rule 56 of the CGST Rules, requires every registered person’s accounts and records to be preserved for that period, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 allows retention where another law requires it.
What we keep is the financial record itself. The personal details attached to it are anonymised, so the record no longer identifies you. We also keep the tamper-evident audit log and a fingerprint proving the deletion was carried out. Nothing retained is used to contact you, to profile you or for marketing.
After the eight years, the retained records are deleted in the ordinary course.
5. Before you delete
- Export first. Privacy & data → Download my data gives you a ZIP you keep. There is no way to retrieve it afterwards.
- A paid plan is not refunded by deleting. Cancellation and refunds follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Cancel or claim a refund before you delete.
- If you own companies with other members, their access ends with your account. Transfer ownership first if the business is to carry on.
- Deleting does not file anything. Returns that are due remain your statutory obligation.
