Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 August 2026 · These terms govern your use of the 24eTax app, web application and the 24etax.com website, operated by 24eTax ("we", "us").
1. What 24eTax is — and isn't
- 24eTax is software that helps you create GST documents, keep books, reconcile GSTR-2B and prepare and transmit GST returns that you authorise.
- You are the filer. Returns are filed under your GSTIN using the EVC OTP delivered to your registered mobile/email. The act of filing is yours; the app facilitates it.
- We are not rendering chartered accountancy, legal or tax-advisory services through the software. Nothing in the app or on this website is professional tax advice. Engage a professional for advice on your specific situation.
- Verify before you file. The app validates your data against GSTN's published rules and shows you the summary GSTN computed before filing — but the accuracy of the underlying data, and the decision to file, are yours.
2. Your account
- You must be 18+ and authorised to act for the business you register.
- Keep your sign-in credentials and OTPs to yourself. Actions taken from your account are attributed to you. Use the staff roles feature rather than sharing logins.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of data you (and your staff) enter.
3. GST portal operations
- Connections to GSTN and related government systems run through a Government-licensed GST Suvidha Provider. These systems have their own downtimes and rules; we are not responsible for GSTN outages, but we will always show you honestly whether an operation reached the portal or not.
- We keep an encrypted archive of every payload sent to and received from GSTN on your behalf — your protection and ours in any dispute.
- Statutory due dates are your responsibility. The app reminds; the law binds.
4. Subscriptions
- The Free plan is free. Paid plans are billed as shown at purchase, with a full-featured trial first. Prices may change with notice; existing paid periods are honoured, and your price at purchase is honoured on renewals.
- Fair usage applies to portal operations (see pricing).
- Cancellations and refunds are governed by the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use 24eTax to break the law — including issuing fake invoices, evading tax, or infringing others' rights. Don't probe, overload or reverse-engineer the service. We may suspend accounts that do, and where the law requires, report them.
6. Your data
Your business data is yours. Our collection and handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. You can export your data at any time from the app.
7. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is" — offline features keep working during outages, and we publish honest status information. We may improve or change features; we won't remove a capability material to your paid plan mid-term without a fair remedy.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent the law permits: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or penalties/interest arising from data you entered or returns you authorised. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
9. Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time (financial records are retained per the statutory 8-year requirement — see the Privacy Policy). We may terminate for material breach of these terms, with notice where practicable.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you hold.
