GST notices: fetched every morning, kept for good

The GST portal shows you roughly the last 60 days of notices. Miss that window — a holiday, a changed phone number, a client who forgot to mention it — and the notice is gone from view while its deadline keeps running. 24eTax checks every morning and keeps every notice it finds, permanently.

Why notices go missing

A GST notice does not arrive in your inbox. It appears on the portal, under the GSTIN it was issued against, and the clock on it starts whether or not anyone logs in to look. GSTN's own notice list serves a rolling window of about 60 days — after that the entry stops being returned, even though the notice and its consequences are very much still alive. Businesses with one GSTIN miss them because nobody logs in weekly. Accountants miss them because they have forty GSTINs and no reason to check the ones that were quiet last month.

What changes when the app is watching

24eTax runs a sweep every morning across every GSTIN you have connected, reads the notice list the way you would, and writes each notice into a permanent archive the first time it sees it. Nothing ages out. A notice from eighteen months ago is still there, with its attachments, long after the portal has stopped listing it — which is usually exactly when the follow-up arrives and you need to produce it.

How notice tracking works

Checked every morning

A sweep runs at 07:00 IST across every GSTIN with a live GSTN session, so a notice issued overnight is on your board before the working day starts.

A permanent archive

The portal's 60-day window is not a limit here. Every notice is stored the first time it appears and stays readable for as long as you keep the account.

Open and closed, at a glance

Filter by open, by closed, or across every client at once — so what still needs an answer is never mixed in with what has already been dealt with.

Attachments kept safely

The documents attached to a notice are downloaded and held in private storage — never on a public URL, and never mixed in with your invoice PDFs.

Every client on one board

Accountants get a single portfolio view across client GSTINs, so the question “does anyone have an open notice?” takes one glance instead of forty logins.

Your session, your OTP

Notices are read using your own OTP-authenticated GSTN session. The session is stored encrypted and refreshed automatically; nobody else's credentials are involved.

Frequently asked questions

What is a GST notice?

It is any communication the GST department issues against your GSTIN on the portal — a scrutiny notice on a return, a mismatch intimation, a demand, a query on a refund, or an order. Most carry a deadline, and that deadline runs from the date of issue, not from the day you happen to see it.

Why does the GST portal only show 60 days of notices?

GSTN's notice list serves a rolling window of roughly 60 days. It is a limit of the portal's own listing, not a sign that the notice has been withdrawn or settled. 24eTax stores each notice the first time it appears, so your copy survives long after the portal stops returning it.

Which notices does 24eTax pick up?

Whatever appears in your GSTIN's notice list on the portal, including the additional notices and orders section and the return-related communications GSTN exposes. If the portal lists it for that GSTIN, it is captured and kept.

Can I reply to a notice from inside the app?

No — replies are filed on the GST portal itself. What 24eTax does is make sure you know the notice exists on the day it appears, keep the notice and its attachments permanently, and track whether it is still open.

Do I need to connect my GSTIN for this?

Yes. Notices are read through your own GSTN session, created with the OTP sent to the mobile number registered against that GSTIN. Without a live session for a GSTIN there is nothing to read, and that GSTIN is skipped.
